About Us

Here are some details about the cabin that can help you get a

better picture of what it is like:

Beds:  There is a queen sized bed in the master bedroom on the first floor.

There are two twin-sized beds in the upstairs bedroom.  The futon has an

inner-spring mattress and is a full-sized bed.  Blankets and pillows are available

unless you prefer to use your own.  You will need to provide sheets.

Living Area:  There is a television with a DVD player and Wii.  There is no

cable or satellite.  There is also a stereo in the loft area along with a variety

of games.

Bathroom:  The bathroom is a full-sized bathroom.  Please remember to bring

paper products as needed.  There is a hairdryer in the drawer and cleaning

supplies under the sink. You will need to provide your own towels and washclothes.

Heat/AC:  There is a propane gas stove for comfortable even temperatures in the winter.  Do not shut the pilot light off.  There are also baseboard heaters in each room.  During the summer there is a window air conditioner in the loft and window fans.  A ceiling fan is also in the main section of the "A" frame which helps with heat/cold air movement.  Please be sure to shut off the appliances when you leave.

Campfires:  THere is a fire pit outside for your use.  You may use the wood that is stacked several places around the building.  There are marshmallow sticks in the kitchen.  Please be aware of any state burn bans and extinguish your fire when you're done for the day.  You may use the hose in the back of the cabin for fire safety.

Pets:  House-trained pets are welcome.  Note that dogs must be leashed when outside according to Hickory Hills Property Owners Association policy.  There are gates to assist with pet containment on the deck and leashes at the base of the main deck stairs.  Please be sure the walking paths are clear of pet waste.

Clean-up: Please return the cottage to the condition it was in when you arrived - including returning furniture to original places, cleaning bathroom and kitchen, removing trash and your possessions.  A walk-through will be done.

Wildlife:  There is a great opportunity to see wildlife including deer, squirrels, a variety of birds, bear, snakes and chipmunks.  Please do not feed the wildlife or leave food out - as you may attrack unwanted guests.
